Is Total Recall more violent than Robocop?

Both films are similar in terms of graphic carnage and are both directed by Paul Verhoeven. Both films contain much gratuitous violence. Yet somehow, after watching Robocop, I never thought films could get any worse until I saw Total Recall. The latter film is perhaps even more violent than Robocop. Or is it just me? At least, it's a distinct possibility. Prior to these films, there seemed a mere handful of extremely violent films like The Wild Bunch, Scarface (the re-make) and The Terminator (maybe the most violent film before Robocop). Also, Walter Hill's Extreme Prejudice is extremely violent and pays homage to The Wild Bunch.
