New Written Language Style?

I think this has been tried before with bad results. The method you describe may be easier but it lacks the ability to relate more complex sounds. To offer a different rune or symbol for each sound you would actually need more letters than we currently have. Think of the combinations we have like TH, SH, CH not to mention the mulitple sounds per vowel. Yes, it would make everything phoenetic but there would be so many runes to learn that it would be very difficult to master.
