What are some good descriptions of intense pain?

Please describe the most painful experience you have had. Remember to compare your pain to something, use similes, anything that helps me imagine what you feel. Things like broken bones, cuts, even gunshot wounds. I am not a twisted freak; I am writing a book and need great descriptions. But I have never been shot, broken any major bones or been seriously wounded. Best description gets 10 points!!
