Why do people attempt to answer questions they don't really have an experience with?

I was just paging through the site and I saw some answers that bewildered me. Some answers are short, like one or two words, some answers are hateful and unhelpful. Why? Is it really necessary for you to post an answer on something that you hate or that you have no understanding of? Also why bother looking up questions about things you hate in the first place? Another good point to make is that people often don't use and sort of spelling or grammar in answers, I understand this to a certain extent and I have come to live with the fact that 'text talk' is an uneradicatable evil (I honestly don't have a stick up my *** about this), but sometimes I can't even understand what a person is trying to say in posts. Am I the only one that this gets to? Doesn't Yahoo have moderators who can fix this? Do I have a huge stick up my *** for letting this annoy me? Do I have to much time if I'm asking this question?
