Texas Trivia...?

Born 1937, joined the marines for 3 yrs came back to Texas and hit the bars, tonks, and night clubs playing his style music. In 1988 he was chosen to play a mayor in a small town in New Mexico on a movie Robert Redford directed. In 1975 he had a #1 hit that also recieved single of the year from the CMA. He ped away recently and will be forever missed. He was a part of the Tex-Mex super group Texas Tornadoes
